The Southern Humboldt 76ers made it two straight wins to open their own tournament, beating Red Bluff 7-5 on Saturday morning.

The 76ers also defeated Gridley 8-0 to begin the five-team round-robin tournament on Friday night.

Wyatt Wilson pitched five innings for the win against Red Bluff, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking just one.

Ethan Ward led the 76ers at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, while Aaron Head-Mason and Garrett Christiansen each added a hit.

With the win the 76ers improve to 2-9 on the summer and will continue tourney play against the Northern Humboldt Giants on Saturday night at 7 p.m.

The Giants also play Gridley at 4:30 p.m.

The tournament runs through Sunday with all games played at Newburg Park in Fortuna.
