The 2019 edition of the Humboldt Burlesque Festival, which had been scheduled to take place at the Eureka Theater Nov. 1 and 2, has been canceled according to a social media post from fest organizers:
We are deeply saddened and disheartened to inform you that we are cancelling the 2019 Humboldt Burlesque Festival.
As you likely know, we are a volunteer organization that endeavors to provide all-inclusive, supportive, body-positive entertainment to the community. We do this without compensation, to benefit our community. However, as a result of recent events, it has become impossible for us to achieve these goals with respect to the 2019 Humboldt Burlesque Festival. We have therefore come to the extremely difficult decision that we must cancel the event for 2019.
We thank you all for your support and sincerely apologize to everyone who has been negatively affected, in any fashion, by these recent events.
