The Kincade wildfire burning in northeastern Sonoma County, which ignited on Wednesday for unknown reasons, is now 66,231 acres in size and 5 percent contained according to the latest information from Calfire.

As of this afternoon, the fire has destroyed 96 buildings and is threatening another 79,675 buildings.

More than 4,000 firefighters, 444 fire engines, 30 water tenders, 10 helicopters and 53 dozers have been dispatched to the blaze.

The previously issued Red Flag Warning was lifted in the area this morning. However, San Francisco’s National Weather Service office reports that nearly-critical fire conditions still exist, with 40 to 50 mph winds still possible in the area.

One first responder has been injured by the fire. No deaths have been reported.
