Breaker 1-9, good Humboldt. This is LoCO here with yer feel-good story of the day. Over.
A convoy of truckers helped clear up Highway 101 traffic yesterday by linking together their trailers and towing a broken-down, 120,000-pound logging truck off the road at Last Chance Grade.
Fortuna trucker Jason Green told the Outpost that he helped the convoy link-up their chains yesterday after he became stuck behind the logging truck, which was blocking all lanes of traffic.
“There was absolutely no passing in either direction,” Green said.
After some trial and error, the convoy was able to tow the truck and its oversized load of logging equipment out of the roadway, clearing up traffic that was backed up for more than an hour.
“We initially tried it with three trucks, but that wasn’t enough, so they brought in the fourth one and it was a struggle but we finally got it going,” he said.
Green captured the joyous moment on his cellphone and has shared it with the Outpost for all to enjoy.
