Humboldt County Library press release:

Due to public health concerns presented by COVID-19, all Humboldt County Library locations and Bookmobile will be closed to the public from Tuesday, March 17th through Tuesday, March 31st, 2020.  This decision is based on information from the California Department of Public Health and is designed to protect the health of our community and staff. Library volunteers will be contacted and asked not to report until further notice.

During the closure, library users can return materials at exterior book returns at all library locations. The library will be waiving fines that accrue during this crisis. You may still receive automated notifications from our system that fines are accruing. We apologize for that. Please disregard them and know that your library will be able to waive those fines once you return the items.

Please do not return any inter-library loan or Zip book items until the library reopens. You will not accrue any fines for late return of these materials. All reserved items will be held for patrons until library operations resume.

The library offers e-books, audiobooks, magazines, and databases online at https://humboldtgov.org/219/Search-for-eBooks. These materials are free with your library card. Wi-Fi will be on and accessible from outside each library.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and support for our efforts to contribute to community health and well-being. Please visit the library website and Facebook pages for updates about library procedures and services, as we respond to this rapidly changing situation.

We encourage everyone to learn more about the Coronavirus and safety measures that we can all take to protect one another:
