A participant in Humboldt’s pro-Trump parade was caught on camera driving dangerously close to a counter protester in McKinleyville yesterday afternoon.
The video, recorded by Outpost reader Bob Pagliuco, shows a grey pickup decorated with an American flag and a Trump campaign sign swerve aggressively in the direction of a counter protester standing in the right-hand lane of Central Avenue near Six Rivers Brewery.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol both told the Outpost that they received no reports on the incident.
“Throughout the event, we responded to several reports of traffic congestion and a couple of non-injury traffic collisions,” Humboldt CHP spokesperson Paul Craft said. “However, we are not aware of any calls related to the incident in the video you shared.”
Interactions between the caravan of Trump supporters and the counter protesters scattered along the parade route were mostly peaceful prior to the incident seen in the video.
This is at least the fourth time this year that a person has been caught on camera driving aggressively toward local protesters.
