The first major heat wave of the season is expected to hit Humboldt this Memorial Day weekend.
Eureka’s National Weather Service office reports that temperatures in Willow Creek are forecast to reach 99 degrees on Monday, and surpass 100 degrees by Tuesday.
“Heads up Northwest California!” the National Weather Service shared on social media. “It’s looking like Memorial Day and at least the first half of next week will see some of the warmer interior valleys climb to around 100 degrees as high pressure dominates the Western U.S.”
Coastal areas are also forecast for sunny weather with temperatures in the low 60s to mid 70s.
