Public service announcement from the Hoopa Office of Emergency Services:
WARNING!!
Trinity River flows are increasing! The water will be swifter and colder than usual.
Please be extra cautious when recreating along the river and ensure you use proper floatation equipment.
Due to increasing rates of disease detected in returning salmon, dam releases to the Trinity River will increase from 450 cfs (cubic feet per second) to 1,200 cfs starting Friday, August 28th, 2026. The flow will remain elevated into mid-September depending on fish and disease response.
