1. The Hills, LLC and Shadow Light Ranch, LLC; Conditional Use Permits and Special Permits Record Numbers
The County of Humboldt is considering approving permits for The Hills, LLC and Shadow Light Ranch, LLC to continue commercial cannabis cultivation and processing operations. The project includes cultivation, a wholesale nursery, processing facilities, and employee housing. The project site is located in Garberville, and the permits are subject to certain conditions. The proposal also includes decommissioning and restoration of existing ponds. The staff recommends approval of the permits, and the project is consistent with local regulations. The public had expressed concerns about traffic and environmental impacts, but the applicants made commitments to address these issues. The project is also in line with the county’s regulations on the number of cultivation permits allowed.

In the County of Humboldt, a meeting took place,
For the Planning Commission, on this important date.
The Hills and Shadow Light Ranch had quite the request,
For cannabis permits, they wanted to be blessed.
Conditional Use Permits, and Zoning Clearance too,
Special Permits for processing, all things they wanted to do.
With cultivation sites and a wholesale nursery to show,
They presented their plans for the Commission to know.
With land parcels to retire and new areas to grow,
Their cultivation project was set to glow.
From greenhouses to housing, the project was grand,
But concerns were raised by the neighborhood band.
Traffic and water issues, fears of adverse impact,
Were raised at a meeting, the concerns did not retract.
But with commitments made and conditions to uphold,
The project was approved, as the story is told.
So in Humboldt County, on that fateful day,
The Planning Commission gave their say.
With Resolution in hand and conditions to meet,
The project was approved, a victory sweet.
And now the hills of Humboldt will see,
A new chapter in their cannabis industry.
With Shadow Light Ranch and The Hills LLC,
Their project approved, the future will tell.

2. Laura Muzzy Conditional Use Permit Modification Record Number
The County of Humboldt is considering a request to modify a permit for a cannabis cultivation project in the Carlotta area. The modification would allow for the addition of a well as a water source and an increase in the amount of water used for irrigation. The project has been reviewed for environmental impacts and the Planning Commission is being asked to approve the modification with certain conditions. The proposal includes detailed information about water usage, environmental considerations, and agency involvement.

Laura Muzzy y Erik Sordal

… or, as a conversation between Beavis and Butt-head!
Beavis: Uh huh huh huh, synthetic netting.
Butt-head: Yeah, like, what the hell is that?
Beavis: I think it’s like, plastic or nylon stuff they use for growing weed or something.
Butt-head: Oh yeah, I heard about that. It’s like a trellis, you know, to support the plants.
Beavis: Heh heh, yeah, they’re talking about how some places are using it and some places aren’t.
Butt-head: Yeah, and like, the wildlife is getting trapped in it or something. That’s messed up.
Beavis: Yeah, they should probably figure out if they want to ban it or come up with some rules for using it.
Butt-head: Yeah, like, they need to, you know, make sure people are using it responsibly and not just leaving it all over the place.
Beavis: Heh heh, yeah. I wonder if they’re gonna show any pictures of animals stuck in the netting.
Butt-head: Cool, let’s go to this meeting and see if they have any free samples of the synthetic netting.
