Willow Creek Drowning Update: The Coast Guard helicopter is on scene working with ground resources for the search and rescue operation for the original victim and the second victim who was stranded on the rocks. NOAA is reporting flows on the Trinity River at the Hoopa gage to be approximately 8,500 CFM at 17.5 feet. This is just slightly lower than flows during last month’s drowning incident disappearance in the river on April 22, which occurred several miles downstream near the Tish Tang Campground. Flow on April 22 at the Hoopa gage was in the 10,000-12,000 CFM range, though it was rising sharply throughout the day and the days that followed.
