Per APD officers at scene, the shooting on Ridge Road appears to be a prank call. The original call was reportedly received by “voice to text” on 911. APD has established contact with the occupants of the apartment that was reported in the call and it is all clear. Fire and medical have been canceled

Arcata Gunshot Victim: 500 block of Ridge Road cross of Mack Road; A female is reportedly shot, not breathing, and a male is possibly threatening to shoot himself and responding officers. All available APD and UPD units are responding, fire and medical were requested to stage “far away”
