Here we can see the parotoid glands, which are an aggregation of grandular glands. These glands secret toxins that are deadly to some predators, noxious to others, and to some effectless. If you look at the animal's left eye, notice the light circle areas. Another area of grandular gland concentration is the dorsal ridge on A.gracile's tail. When disturbed the animal secrets it's poison, and will thrash it's tail trying to get the poison on its predator. They will also tilt they head down and towards the threat, making the parotoid gland more pronounced. •
