UPDATE, 12:45 p.m.: LoCO superfriend “Downtown Observer” sends the following pics from the scene, as well as a brief report:
“No visible damage on the exterior. Partial collapse of some structural beams, according to renovation workers on scene (a dozen or so of them safely left the building and were outside). Foot and auto traffic restricted around entire block (G & F, 2 & 3) by authorities. Numerous fire and police units on scene. Workers said they were waiting for authorities to inspect the damage and assess the risk.”
… and the T-S is saying that this is because the roof of the St. Vincent De Paul building has partially collapsed.
More soon.
