Your Lost Coast Outpost is hanging out in warm, sunny Blue Lake today for the Humboldt Folklife All Day Free Festival, which is a pretty sweet scene all on its own. But then it got a little bit sweeter because, well, who do we see? Why that’s North Coast Journal arts and culture editor and longtime attender of every, damn Humboldt event Bob Doran. Yay!

Many of you already know why this is great, significant news. For the rest of you, a few months back Bob had a stroke — a bad one — during HSU’s graduation that left him unable to walk and talk for a period and continues to require serious rehabilitation.

Well, Bob is walkin’ around today’s festival talkin’ it up with friends and loved ones. Today’s outing is his first since his stroke. Dude looks good. Come on down and say “hi.” Or, if you can’t make this, he’ll be at the joint Back On Their Feet benefit the Arcata Eye is throwing for him and Jess McGuinty at HumBrews this coming Thursday (medical bills suck).

Anywho, welcome back, Bob. We missed ya.
