LoCO reader Susan Cherry sent in the above photo of a downed tree near the corner of 2nd and E streets in Old Town. The foliage was the victim of yesterday’s severe winds. As though that weren’t exciting enough, the Eureka Books Facebook page notes that there were people in the car pictured at “timber!” time. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Goodbye, tree. If you are in the market for firewood, city workers were seen chopping it up this morning. Hustle your haggle.
