At 12:22 p.m. Humboldt time, an earthquake believed to measure in the neighborhood of 6.8 on the ol’ Richter scale struck 129 kilometers off the eastern coast of Japan nearest the Fukushima prefecture. 

Minor tsunami warnings have been issued by the Japanese government for mainland Japan. Humboldt is expected to be tsunami-free, allowing everyone ample time to enjoy the following comment section.
