Below is a list, released by the City of Eureka, of all the places you will soon be driving slower (well, if you don’t want a ticket). This, of course, pending approval by the Eureka City Council at their March 17 meeting (they will).

The California Vehicle Code requires that governmental agencies review and update their speed limits every 5 years to allow continued use of radar for speed enforcement. This survey also allows for agencies to increase or decrease certain speed limits and was presented to the City Council on December 16, 2014. The 2014 Engineering and Traffic Survey for Speed Zoning was received by Council and received court approval that allows continued use of radar on City Streets.
The ordinance changing those speed limits will be introduced at the March 3, 2015 Council meeting with adoption scheduled for March 17, 2015. New speed signs will be installed prior to enforcement allowing for an educational period.
