UPDATE, DEC. 20, 10 a.m.: In addition to the suggestions in the comments and on our Facebook page, the Cool Beans coffee shop on Myrtle Avenue — which has a seasonal tree lot — tells us that they got a new shipment in today. The shipment was of about 40 trees, and 10 of them are gone, says the Cool Beans person. Act now!

Daman and Kim’s this morning: No trees! Video: Ryan Burns.

Over the last 24 hours, the Outpost has heard from a couple of people who cannot find a Christmas tree for sale anyplace.

Says one reader:

Does anyone know where to get a real Christmas tree? It’s our daughter’s first Christmas and we drove around three hours yesterday trying to find one!

Says another:

As far as I can tell, as of today, Sunday 12/18, and perhaps earlier in the week, there are no Christmas trees to buy from Eureka to Mckinleyville. We looked in 9 different usual places and the lots were either empty or not even there.

What the heck?!

What the heck, indeed. This morning Ryan Burns drove over to Daman and Kim’s, that stalwart Xmas tree lot behind the Red Lion, and found no trees. We called up Shafer’s in Henderson Center: No trees!

Can you help a neighbor out? Tell us: Who still has Christmas trees for sale?
