• Eureka Police Searching For Man Who Allegedly Swiped Two Handguns From Sporting Goods Store

From the Eureka Police Department:

On December 26, 2016, at about 4:57 p.m., two handguns were stolen from a sporting goods store on the 3600 block of Broadway. The male suspect was last seen running east on Allard Avenue. The suspect was described as a white male, thin build, wearing a red hat.

On December 27, 2016, at about 4:36 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a residence on the 2400 block of Garland Street for the report of an ex-roommate forcing entry into the residence. Officers made contact with the ex-roommate, David Aumiller, 34, of Missouri. During their investigation, officers located one of the two stolen handguns in Aumiller’s backpack. The second stolen handgun has not been recovered at this time.

Aumiller was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for trespassing, possession of burglary tools, felon in possession of a firearm, burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
