This casual Bayside burglar was caught on camera chillin’ with an orange drink at the 800 block of Bayside Road in Arcata, before strolling over to a nearby car, bashing out the passenger side window and making off with a bag of makeup.

Eureka resident Caitlin Conners said the incident happened last month while she was at work. 

“It could have been worse!” Conners wrote in a Facebook message. “Replacing the window was the worst part.”

Conners said that an Arcata Police Department officer told her the suspect likely used a spark plug to punch out the window.

The footage shows the suspect clenching his right fist before burglarizing the car and scurrying up the street to his getaway ride. Conners told the Outpost that the getaway car is suspected to be a white Honda CRV.

“Please don’t leave ANYTHING in the car,” she wrote in a local Facebook group. “This video has also been passed on to the authorities but they have not gotten back to me about identification so I am uploading it here. I thought I would warn everyone to be on the lookout.”
