Just before 10:30 last night, a suspected drunk driver plowed into the side of a Eureka Police Department cruiser right outside police headquarters at Sixth and C streets.
The intersection was closed for a good long while as California Highway Patrol officers were brought in to investigate the crash, and while tow truck drivers cleared the smashed vehicles.
Medical personnel were briefly requested to attend to the officer driving the car, but were quickly waved off. EPD brass reported via Twitter that their cop was not badly injured:
Driver SIC for DUI. DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE! Yes, I’m yelling. https://t.co/eOtYOo4Y3q
