OK, sure. That is a funny stump.
During one of LoCO’s numerous daily out-of-the-office sanity strolls, our eyes were drawn to an unauthorized addition to one of the many signs commemorating locally shot motion pictures. Affixed to Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission’s The Wine of Summer plaque is another, smaller sign honoring a nearby stump that, until now, we’d failed to notice despite countless passes.
“John Wayne Bobbit [sic] Memorial Stump” reads the paper sign in front of the cockishly shaped tree corpse. Not that subtle, but “Zing!” anyway.
Now, it seems entirely plausible to LoCO that some people may never have heard of John Bobbitt. Luckily, you are on the Internet. Happy hunting.
