As you may have heard somewhere, there’s a great chance it will soon be wet here in Humboldt. Maybe you need a sandbag or ten. Also, sand. Well, the City of Eureka provides these things to its citizens as told in the press release below:

BE PROACTIVE WHEN PREPARING FOR UPCOMING STORMS! The City of Eureka is making sandbags and sand available to Eureka residents who may experience flooding during storm events. Sandbags and sand can be picked up behind the City’s Corporation Yard located at 945 W. 14th Street, at any time, Monday – Sunday. Please follow signs to the sand location. Shovels may be available during regular hours; however, it is advisable to bring your own shovel. For additional information and to make arrangements to pick up the sandbags, please call the Public Works Department at 441-4203.
