This morning the Outpost spoke with Officer Brandy Gonzalez, with the California Highway Patrol out of Del Norte County, who confirmed that the 2003 Nissan found down an embankment off Highway 199 belonged to Mary Lynn Dezern, the 43-year-old Eureka resident reported missing yesterday. Dezern died in the crash. Her next of kin has been notified by the Del Norte County Coroner’s Office, according to Gonzalez.
CHP investigators have yet to determine a cause of collision but continue to work the case.
