UPDATE, 4:40 p.m.:
State Senator Mike McGuire reports that AT&T service has been restored Humboldt County.
###
Well that didn’t last long.
Hours after fixing the internet outage that plagued the greater Eureka area yesterday, AT&T reports that service is down again for some areas of Humboldt County.
“We’re investigating an issue that may be affecting services for some customers in the Eureka area who experienced similar issues yesterday,” AT&T said in a statement this afternoon. “Technicians are engaged and working to restore service as quickly as possible.”
Yesterday’s initial outage was reportedly caused by fiber damaged inflicted by a third party. We will update when we know more.
.@ATT is once again working to fix challenges related to the fiber line in #Humboldt County. Crews are currently working to resolve the issue out in the field. We’ll provide more info once we receive it. Thank you.
