Tattoo parlors, nail salons and other personal care services can be cleared to reopen as of today. Hotels, motels and other short-term stay places can be cleared to accept tourists.

That’s according to the a videotaped statement by Dr. Teresa Frankovich, Humboldt County’s public health officer, which was release today, and which references amendments made to the county’s shelter-in-place order.

Gyms and the like are currently scheduled to be cleared to reopen July 3. (Some gyms have opened illegally, Frankovich says. There are reasons to be concerned about safety in such places, as their reopening plans have not been reviewed by the county.)

After that? Golf, bowling, cinemas and other “family recreation facilities” will be next in line. There’ll be an announcement made about that sector next week, Frankovich said.
