Lost Coast Trail Stewards Work Day - Chemise Mountain Trail
Local trail enthusiasts are invited to join Friends of the Lost Coast for a Trail Stewards workday on Chemise Mountain Trail in the King Range on Sunday, October 2 from 10a.m. to 2p.m., weather permitting. Work will focus on removal of downed trees along the trail and other basic upkeep. Meet the Lost Coast Trail Stewards crew at Nadelos Campground on Chemise Mountain Rd at 10a.m. Tools will be provided and participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks, water, and gloves, plus dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. This is a great opportunity to meet other trail enthusiasts while helping maintain and enhance our local trails.
Also, thanks to a new partnership program with BLM KRNCA, Friends of the Lost Coast is offering a limited number of paid Trail Internship opportunities to local youth, ages 13-16, to work with the Lost Coast Trail Stewards. Up to 4 individual stipends will be available for each Trail Stewards workday, offering $10 per hour. The stipends will be available first come, first served and no prior trail experience is necessary. For more information on Youth Trail Internships or to RSVP for the October 2 workday, email justin@lostcoast.org.
