From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On Wednesday, February 15th, 2017, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) received a tip regarding the whereabouts of fugitive Joshua Wentworth.
At approximately 1015 hours, Deputies from the HCSO Trinity River Division (TRD), assisted by Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) followed up on the tip at a motel in the 39000 block of State Highway
96299 in Willow Creek. Through investigation on scene, Deputies were able to determine that Wentworth was likely in one of the rooms at the motel with girlfriend Tamara Conley, who was also a fugitive. Because Wentworth was considered armed and dangerous, Deputies and CHP Officers set up a perimeter around the motel, and verbal commands were used to request their surrender. A short time later, both Wentworth and Conley exited the room and were taken into custody without incident.Wentworth was later booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF) on 3 warrants that were issued out of the Humboldt County Superior Court. The misdemeanor warrants were issued for resisting arrest/driving while suspended, and for possession of a Billy club. The felony warrant was issued for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Wentworth is being held without bail. Conley was later cited and released on a misdemeanor warrant.
