Saturday Lowdown: Homebrew Fest Sells Out, Here are Your Fallbacks
Just got the official word: Today’s Humboldt Homebrew Festival at the Arcata Community Center is totally sold out. But thou shall not be funless. You could still go to the Annual Spring Mushroom Fair! Yes?
Well, if “fungi” and “fun” aren’t synonymous in your brain, do note that tonight is Arts Alive in Eureka. Get there a little early for the spectacle that is the annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes march featuring men strutting their stuff in high heels to raise awareness about sexualized violence.
Later in the evening up in Arcata, ’tis the HumBrews return of Zepparella, the all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band. The Lowdown has said it before and will say it again: Don’t be frightened by this being some cheap gimmick. These ladies can wail. See below.
