TUESDAY LOWDOWN: ‘Tis a Saxy Night to Be in Arcata
The Tiptons Saxophone Quartet are an out-of-town group that seem to pop up at the Arcata Playhouse every couple of years or so. For over three decades now, the Seattle-based assemblage has been playfully exploring a number of musical styles not normally associated with saxophone, including Balkan and bluegrass, to go along with their more traditional Big Band, funk and jazz leanings.
Details on that show and others in your Tuesday Lowdown below. -AG
