Judge John Feeney today ruled that there was enough evidence to hold Fortuna resident Marci Kitchen to answer on charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence causing death, as well as special allegations pertaining to multiple victims and fleeing the scene of a crime.
Feeney’s ruling came at the end of the three-day pretrial hearing that has been running in the Humboldt County Courthouse since Monday morning.
Kitchen is accused of running down and killing her own teenage daughter and her daughter’s friend on Fortuna’s Eel River Drive in July 2016.
The Outpost’s Rhonda Parker will have more on today’s events in the Feeney’s courtroom later this evening.
