(VIDEO) Your Latest Searchin’ For Bigfoot Doc ‘Asquatchalypse Now’ Screens in Arcata Monday Night

Humboldt is full of bigfoot believers, both earnest and entrepreneurial.

Which variety is Scott “Squatch” Herriot? You’re free to speculate. You’ll have a chance to collect evidence when the local filmmaker is screening his new documentary Asquatchalypse Now Monday night at the Arcata Playhouse. The film tells the tale of Herriot and associates as the spend a summer out on The Bigfoot Trail, a 360-mile, still-under-construction hiking trail through the Klamath Mountains in California and Oregon. Do they find bigfoot? You’ll have to watch it.

But whether you believe in the existence of our shy, hairy neighbor or not, you can validate your attendance to the showing via the knowledge that proceeds a non-make believe cause: continued construction and maintenance of the Bigfoot Trail (learn about the Bigfoot Trail Alliance here and/or during the Q&A with the filmmaker at the event).

Again, even if this whole bigfoot thing is a hoax (gasp!) it’s still really pretty out there in the mountains. Watch a trailer above and/or peruse your Lowdown listings below. —Andrew Goff
