FRIDAY LOWDOWN: Beats Antique Belly Dancer Zoe Jakes in Arcata
Your Humboldt weekend awaits and your Lowdown is bursting with distractions to make you forget about the trudge it took to get here. For example, Friday is the first of a two-night engagement for Zoe Jakes’ House of Tarot inside the circus tent in Arcata’s Creamery District. Jakes, an innovative belly dancer and founding member of Beats Antique, acts as performer, director, choreographer and costume designer in the show which aims to make the Tarot deck come to life. Local troupe Zeta Fusion opens the night.
