THURSDAY LOWDOWN: La Luz! Duckwrth! More!

There’s a couple of notable out-of-town acts sprucing up Humboldt’s Thursday should you need some aural stimulation:

  • If streaming numbers and YouTube views are to be trusted, LA-based hip hop/R&B singer Duckwrth ain’t doing half bad out there in the world. He’s also toured with Billie Eilish and Anderson .Paak. Sample his sound above, left, and then consider catching him at Arcata Theatre Lounge. 
  • Also from LA, La Luz have made numerous trips to Humboldt over the years. This tour they are making a point of noting that they are celebrating 10 years of pumping out their signature “surf noir” to the savvy masses. Their sounds can be digitally yours above, right, and IRL at the Van Duzer Theater.
