TUESDAY LOWDOWN: Earth Day Rally in Arcata Tuesday Evening

It sure is a nice day here in Humboldt, which (last we checked) is part of this li’l thing called Earth. Earth is great, no?

If you feel like celebrating our blue marble a little extra today, you’re in luck! Since 1970, earthlings have set aside April 22 for Earth Day, which has served as a global call to environmental action. Here locally, the Arcata Plaza will serve as the site of Humboldt’s most prominent Earth Day celebration. Starting at 4:45 p.m., Humboldt Earth-lovers will gather for sign making, postcarding and action alerts, while also hearing from local speakers and enjoying music by Bandemonium and the Raging Grannies.

More details on that and other events happening in the region of Earth in your Lowdown listings below. -AG
