So Fishbone is Playing in Hayfork on Friday?!?

Well, this is just bonkers. 

Um, not a lot going on in Humboldt this Cesar Chavez Day. So let’s plan ahead, shall we? A quick glance at the Lowdown Lookahead — where we gather all the most high-profile future fun — reveals that none other than Fishbone will be playing a two-hour drive away in the middle of nowhere this coming Friday. We’re not exactly sure how this is going to work, but the the Northern Delights coffeehouse in Hayfork will host the ‘80s ska/punk flag-bearers. (Since we know that sounds odd, here’s evidence of this on Fishbone’s Facebook page, as well as on their site.)  

Now your Lowdown freely admits that it has never been to this particular venue, so we don’t really know its moshing capacity, but just to give you an idea of the size rooms Fishbone is still playing in 2014, Friday’s show comes about a week before the band plays consecutive shows at The Warfield in San Francisco and then at Coachella 2014. If we’re the only folks this is weird to, please let us know we’re off base. In the meantime, watch this trailer for a recent Fishbone documentary below, ‘cuz why not.
