(AUDIO) Bill Prescott talks G. Love & the Special Sauce on KHUM

When you work in Humboldt media long enough, you get used to seeing the name Bill Prescott pop up — whether it’s on a floral marketing campaign, a local community board, or a photo caption on the Lost Coast Outpost. But there’s a side to Bill you might not know: he’s also the brother of Jimi Jazz, the longtime bassist for the iconic hip-hop blues trio G. Love & Special Sauce.

With the band heading to Humbrews in Arcata on July 30, KHUM DJ Jordan sat down with Bill for a more personal conversation — about growing up with music, watching his brother tour the world, and why Humboldt feels like the kind of place artists keep coming back to.

Bill has spent decades helping shape Humboldt’s cultural and creative identity — so getting to flip the mic around and hear his story was a real treat. You can catch the full interview above, and then grab your tickets, below, for what promises to be a seriously funky night at Humbrews.
