(VIDEO) Remember When Nicki Bluhm Sang That Hall and Oates Song and the Internet Loved It?

So you didn’t win your Oscar pool. Boo hoo. Let the Lowdown make your Monday better, mmmkay?

Three months ago, Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers were standing tall on Conan O’Brien’s very visible stage. Monday night the group will present their sparkly soul/rock from behind the hallowed HumBrews subwoofers. Strap in.

Now if you’re wondering where you might have heard that name Nicki Bluhm before, we’ll try to help you out. 1) She shares the Bluhm-half of it with her husband and Mother Hips frontman Tim Bluhm; 2) Nicki starred in Gap’s global “Icon Redefined” ad campaign; 3) She and the Gramblers had a minor viral video hit when one of the clips from their Van Sessions series — in which the group record themselves covering predominantly ‘80s songs while sardine-packed in their road van — started making the Internet rounds. (Check out their in-vehicle version of Hall and Oates “I Can’t Go For That” below.)

Before you set coordinates to HumBrews tonight though, make sure you catch the group as they battle Humboldt County’s version of Conan O’Brien, KHUM DJ Mike Dronkers. The Gramblers will appear on an edition of Upstage Live around 5 p.m. on 104.3/104.7 for some songs and Q&A. Tune in.
