Lowdown: Eureka’s Latin American-Tinged Thursday

Looking at this year’s lineup, if LoCO was going to pick a Eureka Summer Concert Series date to be most intrigued by it would be tonight’s — we are promised a rhythmic waterfront fiesta headed up by cumbia band Candelaria at ye olde C Street Market Square. That sounds colorful and interesting, right? But that’s not Old Town’s only Thursday promise! Later, a few blocks away, self-described “East Los Angeles Nueva Tropicália” group El-Haru Kuroi (pictured) will liven up the Siren’s Song Tavern for you lucky ducks. (Check out their song “El Cucui” in the YouTube clip below.) Hey, maybe you squeeze in a trip to Chapala in between the two, I dunno. LoCO ain’t gonna tell you how to live, but this night has potential.

Details on those gems, plus other fun options in your Lowdown listings below.
