Here are a Handful of Ways Humboldt Will Acknowledge Today is Cinco de Mayo Even Though It’s Dumb Tuesday
Let’s just be cool about this. The Lowdown is just gonna go ahead and slip you the link to the Wikipedia page explaining Cinco De Mayo. We won’t look as you click it. It all had to do with the French being pushy. It’s OK if you did not feel an urgency to know that. But you could sound really smart tonight with minimal effort. Your call.
Since this misunderstood holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, it’s not really a star-studded lineup tonight, but that’s OK. You just wanted to drink anyway. Just please, please, resist the urge to don sombreros and thick, black mustaches. You got comedy, fiestas, music and dancing to choose from. Be grateful. Don’t culturally appropriate yourself into an embarrassing situation.
