Thursday Lowdown: Ocean Night, Delhi 2 Dublin, Kingfoot, Beer
Shocker. Your best Humboldt Thursday going out options again require Arcata jaunts:
- Always an example of spirited community, Ocean Night at the Arcata Theatre Lounge will be uniquely special tonight in that longtime host and Humboldt Surfrider chair Jennifer Savage is handing over the reigns to fellow local sea saver Delia Bense-King. Speaking of ladies united by an affection of the deep blue, tonight features two similarly themed films. Dear and Yonder (trailer above on the left) and Shark Girl (on the right).
- After blowing the metaphorical roof off the Dell’Arte amphitheater at this summer’s Humboldt Folklife Festival, local stringband Kingfoot has been a LoCO favorite. We also like beer. Those two will bed wedded tonight at Redwood Curtain Brewery. Joy.
- Dance. Dance. Dance. All you ever wanna do is dance. Fine. HumBrews has taken up your cause and has again seduced Celtic/Punjabi electronica good time peddlers Delhi 2 Dublin to Humboldt to ensure a party occurs. Check their credentials in the YouTube clip below.
Not won over by any of that business? More people clusters can be found in your Lowdown listings just south of here.
