At this stage in the game you might be forgiven if you heard “Mike Love” was playing at Humboldt Brews and thought, hey, the founding Beach Boys member is on a solo tour! Take that, Brian Wilson!
Let the Lowdown set you straight: Not that guy. Sure, the Mike Love you have an opportunity to see Tuesday night in Arcata could easily supply you with a beach day soundtrack, but the Hawaii-born, spiritually minded reggae artist is more inclined to sing about seeking higher levels of consciousness than surfboards, fast cars and California girls.
