A verdict will be announced this afternoon in the case of former Correctional Officer Cory Jordan Fisher Sr., charged with molesting his three sons and sexually assaulting three inmates at Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
Jurors, after deliberating a total of about eight hours yesterday and this morning, left the courthouse shortly before noon and were expected back at 1:30 to render their decision.
The 31-year-old Fisher is charged with numerous counts of child molestation, most of them involving his two adopted sons. Some of the charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison. He also is accused of assault with great bodily injury on one of the boys.
The two oldest victims, now 23 and 20 years old, testified they were sexually and physically abused throughout their childhood.
Fisher, who worked for 10 years in the jail, was arrested in fall 2017 in Southern California after the victims told their mother about the sexual abuse.
The Outpost will have a full report later today.
