Lowdown: Two (Shows) For Tuesday at The Jam; Congress Convenes at Humbrews
Opting to maximize weeknight use of their space, The Jam in Arcata is filling your Humboldt Tuesday with a pair of out-and-about enjoyment options:
- During the early show, comedy nerds can catch the latest Savage Henry Magazine standup parade. If you would, allow headliner Justin Alan to endear himself to you talking about why he picked up a microphone in the clip at far left below.
- Those who stick around post-yuks can zone out to the rhythmic ambience provided by the drums/keyboard duo of Matt Chamberlain and Brian Haas. (FAMOUS BAND CONNECTION: In 2014 Chamberlain filled in as Soundgarden’s drummer during shows in South America and Europe. Boom.) Let your ears have a taste in the center clip below.
Also for your consideration, Humboldt Brews’ stage will emanate all kinds of class Tuesday night courtesy of The Congress, a Richmond, Virginia quartet combining rock ’n’ roll, old school soul and classic country to genre-drop a few. Audio/visual sample in clip at far right below. —AG
