Thursday Lowdown: Kimock in Arcata Tonight (VIDEO)
If you’re one of those weirdos who likes being in the presence of musicians playing instruments, your Humboldt Thursday should entice. Known for his connection to the side projects of various Grateful Dead members, guitarist Steve Kimock has been celebrated for his guitar noodling in many a jam-ish band. Sample his fingers in the YouTube clip above before perhaps heading up to the Arcata Theatre Lounge.
If you’re looking for a more budget musical experience though, note that Absynth Quartet will mirth-up The Jam tonight. Also on that bill: new local Americana band Rogue’s Gallery. More joy in your Thursday Lowdown listings below. —AG
