FRIDAY LOWDOWN: We Have Officially Entered Humboldt’s Haunted House Season

With plenty of actually horrendous things happening in the world, perhaps your Spooky Season could use some good ol’ Halloween escapism. Well, Humboldt has you fraidy cats covered. The next couple weeks include a few “BOO”s, which we will round up for you in brief (click the links for full details):

  • Griffin Loch’s Scream-A-Torium Scaregrounds: Loch, the grandson of perennial Humboldt County villain T. Great Razooly, curates his third annual horror house. Bigger than ever, the spectacle includes three haunted mazes spread around the Humboldt County Fairgrounds and occasional performances from local bands. (Check out the clip above for a terror taste.)
  • The Haunted Rail TourNorth Coast Repertory Theatre actors will offer a scare-raising guided tour through spookified antique train cars at the Timber Heritage Association‘s museum behind the Samoa Cookhouse. There are PG-13 and R-rated experiences for you ghouls to choose from.
  • The Haunted Kinetic Lab of Horrors: You’ll have to wait a little longer for Humboldt’s longest-running Halloween tradition. More artsy than horrifying, the fundraiser for the Arcata Kinetic Lab opens its door starting Thursday of next week and will feature nightly performances by The Deaddrops for the poor souls in line.

Yes, we are truly blessed with an abundance of weirdos in our fair county. Less gruesome Friday events in your Lowdown listings below.
