Friday Lowdown: That Poor Wolf Has No Friends! (VIDEO)
The most important thing you need to know about your Humboldt Friday options is that the calendar demands that Arts Arcata occur. As is always the case, this means that a lot of shows pop up around the Plaza, a fact a quick scroll through your Lowdown listings below will confirm.
What we don’t often see on these Humboldt-wild nights are kid friendly shows, but check out the performance the Arcata Playhouse is hosting tonight (and twice tomorrow). The Australian Windmill Theatre troupe stages their spin of a classic fairy tale in Big Bad Wolf, in which they attempt, comedically, to drum up sympathy for the wolf — “He has no friends!” LoCO was watching the preview clip above and thinking, “If we were five-years-old, we would totally sit still for this.” Perhaps you know wiggly children.
On the other hand, if you have been banned from entering Arcata’s city limits, there there should be good energy at both the Logger Bar and The Palm Lounge where Kingfoot and Cliff Dallas and the Death Valley Troubadours are headlining, respectively. More gems below, probably. —Andrew Goff
