1. Pacific Gas and Electric, Humboldt Bundle #5 Tree Removal Coastal Development Permit (CDP) and Special Permits (SP) Record Number
PG&E is requesting permits to remove trees along their electrical transmission line for safety and regulatory compliance. The project is in Humboldt County and involves the removal of 80 trees at 75 locations. The Planning Commission is recommended to approve the permits with specific conditions. The work will be done along existing roads and no subsurface disturbance will occur. The project is exempt from environmental review and is appealable to the California Coastal Commission. Landowner coordination and removal of brush piles are part of the conditions of approval. Other agencies have recommended approval, and the Planning Commission can add or delete conditions but staff supports the project as proposed.

… or, as a conversation between Beavis and Butt-head!
Beavis: Uh, hey Butt-head, check it out. There’s like, this tree removal thing happening near Orick.
Butt-head: Heh heh, tree removal. I bet they’re gonna cut them down and stuff. Pretty cool, huh?
Beavis: Yeah, they’re like, removing 80 trees at 75 locations. It’s for some electric company, PG&E.
Butt-head: Heh heh, yeah. They’re probably doing it so we can have electricity and stuff. I don’t want the power to go out when I’m watching TV.
Beavis: Yeah, me neither. It says here they have to get a permit and stuff. I guess it’s like, to make sure they’re not messing things up.
Butt-head: Heh heh, permits. That’s like, boring stuff. Let’s just watch them cut down the trees. That’ll be cool.
Beavis: Yeah, heh heh. And then we can play with the wood or something. Wood is cool.

(Scene opens in a meeting room with the Planning Commission seated at a large table. A projector screen displays the detailed information about the Pacific Gas & Electric Company Vegetation Management and Tree Removal project. Senior Planner Rodney Yandell stands at a podium, addressing the commission)
Yandell: (clearing his throat) Thank you for your attention, Planning Commission. Today, we are reviewing the Coastal Development Permit and Special Permits requested by Pacific Gas & Electric Company for their vegetation management and tree removal project along various electrical distribution lines in the Orick, Big Lagoon, Trinidad, and Arcata areas. The project involves the removal of 27 trees at 27 locations and will utilize hand and gas-powered tools for the vegetation management.
Commission Member 1: (raising hand) What measures are being taken to ensure minimal impact on the environment during this project?
Yandell: (nodding) Excellent question. The project has been found exempt from CEQA under existing facilities and minor alterations to land categories. Additionally, Pacific Gas & Electric has provided evidence of compliance with our county’s area plans and zoning ordinance. They will also be following Best Management Practices for all vegetation management activities.
Commission Member 2: (furrowing brow) I see that there have been complaints from landowners about communication and debris left on site. How will these issues be addressed?
Yandell: (sighing) Yes, there have been some challenges with communication and debris management. We have added modified conditions to the approval, requiring Pacific Gas & Electric to notify landowners prior to any tree removal and promptly remove all debris from the project site. They have assured us that they will improve their communication practices moving forward.
Commission Member 3: (leaning forward) What alternatives do we have if we are not satisfied with the proposed conditions?
Yandell: (pausing) If the commission is not satisfied with the proposed conditions, you have the option to add or delete conditions of approval. Ultimately, if you cannot make the required findings, you have the authority to deny approval. However, based on our assessment, we believe the necessary findings can be made in support of the project.
(The scene fades out as the Planning Commission continues their discussion and deliberation on the Pacific Gas & Electric Company Vegetation Management and Tree Removal project)

… or, as an episode of 'The Moe Hogan Experience'!
Moe Hogan: Welcome back, folks! Today we have a very special guest on The Moe Hogan Experience, the author of a document related to PG&E Vegetation Management Coastal Development Permit. Now, there’s been a lot of speculation about what PG&E is up to with all this tree removal and brush clearing, so I’m excited to dig into it with our guest today. Welcome to the show!
Author: Thank you for having me, Moe. I’m glad to be here to shed some light on the details of this project.
Moe Hogan: Now, let me ask you something, this whole thing about tree removal and brush clearing near those PG&E distribution lines, is that really necessary? I mean, could it be a cover-up for something more sinister?
Author: Well, Moe, the purpose of this vegetation management is to maintain safe and reliable electric service and comply with regulatory requirements for public safety and fire prevention. It’s all about keeping the lines clear and preventing any potential hazards. There’s no hidden agenda here.
Moe Hogan: Hmm, interesting. But you know, I’ve heard some rumors about PG&E doing more than just tree removal out there. Have you heard anything about that?
Author: I can assure you, Moe, that the focus of this project is solely on vegetation management along existing distribution lines. There’s no nefarious activities going on, just routine maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.
Moe Hogan: Wow, fascinating stuff. Now, I need to ask my producer to look something up for me real quick. Hey, can you check if there have been any reports of strange occurrences around those PG&E lines in the past?
Producer: Actually, Moe, I just looked it up, and there haven’t been any reports of unusual activity near those lines. It seems like everything is on the up and up.
Moe Hogan: Well, there you have it, folks. No need to worry about any conspiracy theories when it comes to PG&E’s vegetation management. Now, let’s take a quick break to hear from our sponsor about an amazing dietary supplement that I personally swear by. Stay tuned!

… or, as a heartbreaking country/western song!
(Verse 1)
In the hills of Humboldt County, where the redwoods stand tall
There’s a story of a man, trying to make a life for them all
Tierra Verde Holdings, LLC, trying to grow some green
But the road to approval, ain’t as easy as it seems
(Chorus)
Oh, the Planning Commission, they hold the power in their hands
To grant or to deny, this dream of workin’ the land
Will they see the heart and soul, put into this plan
Or will they break it all apart, with just one wave of their hand
(Verse 2)
16,650 square feet, of cannabis cultivation in the sun
Supported by a nursery, trying to get the job done
Water sourced from rain, stored in ponds and tanks
But will it be enough, to fill the farmer’s empty banks
(Chorus)
Oh, the Planning Commission, they hold the power in their hands
To grant or to deny, this dream of workin’ the land
Will they see the heart and soul, put into this plan
Or will they break it all apart, with just one wave of their hand
(Bridge)
The farmer’s heart is heavy, as he waits for their decision
Will they see his passion, or only see division
He’s put his all into this land, his hopes are on the line
Please don’t break his heart, with that final, fateful sign
(Chorus)
Oh, the Planning Commission, they hold the power in their hands
To grant or to deny, this dream of workin’ the land
Will they see the heart and soul, put into this plan
Or will they break it all apart, with just one wave of their hand
(Outro)
In the hills of Humboldt County, where the redwoods stand tall
There’s a farmer praying, for a chance to give his all
Tierra Verde Holdings, LLC, just trying to make a stand
Will they find their place, or will they be left in the sand.

5. Hornstein Final Map Subdivision Assessor Parcel Number: 500-091-064 Record Number
The Planning Commission is considering a Final Map subdivision of a 12.3-acre parcel into two smaller parcels in the Arcata/Fickle Hill area. The two new parcels will be approximately 5.1 acres and 7.2 acres each. The owner plans to build one residence on each parcel, with shared water and sewage disposal systems. Various agencies have reviewed the project and provided recommendations, all of which are included in the conditions of approval. The project is in line with existing community and general plans, so no additional environmental review is required. The Commission will review and potentially approve the subdivision at their upcoming meeting.

Title: Love in the Arcata Hills
Chapter 1: The Meeting
As the members of the Planning Commission gathered in the County of Humboldt, John Hornstein sat nervously in the back of the room. He had spent months preparing for this moment, the presentation of his Final Map Subdivision for the Hornstein property. The room was filled with the buzz of voices, discussing the various agenda items that lay before them.
John couldn’t help but steal glances at the woman sitting at the front of the room, her name tag identifying her as Senior Planner, Rodney Yandell. She was focused on the papers in front of her, her brow furrowed in concentration. John couldn’t deny the attraction he felt towards her, even in such a professional setting.
As the meeting began, Rodney stood and began to discuss the details of John’s subdivision project. Her voice was confident and commanding, her knowledge apparent in every word she spoke. John found himself hanging on her every word, captivated by her presence.
Chapter 2: A Shared Connection
As the meeting continued, John found himself drawn into a conversation with Rodney during a break. They discussed the intricacies of the project, the challenges they faced, and the potential for success. Rodney’s passion for her work was evident, and John couldn’t help but be inspired by her dedication.
As they spoke, John realized that they shared a deep connection, not just in their shared goal of navigating the complexities of the subdivision process, but in their shared values and interests. They both had a love for the beauty of the Arcata hills, for the importance of preserving the environment, and for the sense of community that the area provided.
Chapter 3: Building a Future Together
As the weeks passed, John and Rodney found themselves spending more and more time together, both professionally and personally. Their discussions about the subdivision project evolved into conversations about their hopes and dreams for the future.
John found himself falling for Rodney more and more with each passing day. Her intelligence, her passion, and her kindness drew him in, and he knew that he had found someone truly special. And Rodney, too, found herself opening up to John in ways she never had before, feeling a connection that went beyond mere professional collaboration.
As they worked side by side to bring the Hornstein subdivision to life, John and Rodney discovered that they were not just building houses on parcels of land – they were building a future together. A future filled with love, laughter, and the beauty of the Arcata hills, where their hearts could truly feel at home.

Title: Scooby-Doo and the Mystery of the Hidden Wetland
[The gang pulls up in the Mystery Machine to the Ramirez-Burghart Residence, where they are greeted by Alfredo Ramirez and Rachel L. Barry, who explain the strange occurrences happening on their property.]
Alfredo: “Thank you for coming, Mystery Inc. We’ve been experiencing some odd happenings ever since we started the lot line adjustment and minor subdivision on our property.”
Rachel: “Yes, there have been strange noises coming from the wetland area, and we’ve seen mysterious figures lurking around the perimeter.”
[Daphne gasps dramatically]
Daphne: “Sounds like a classic case of a haunted wetland! But fear not, we’ll get to the bottom of this mystery.”
[Scooby and Shaggy exchange nervous glances, but Fred reassures them]
Fred: “Don’t worry, gang. Let’s split up and investigate the wetland area. Velma, you can take a closer look at the botanical resources assessment to see if there are any clues there.”
[Velma nods and starts examining the assessment while the rest of the gang heads towards the wetland. As they approach, they hear eerie sounds coming from the tall grass.]
Shaggy: “Like, zoinks! What was that?”
[Suddenly, a mysterious figure emerges from the wetland, covered in reed canary grass and making strange noises. The gang gasps in shock]
Daphne: “It’s the ghost of the wetland!”
[Scooby and Shaggy start to run away, but Fred stops them]
Fred: “Wait, let’s see who this really is.”
[Velma steps forward and pulls off the ghost’s mask, revealing it to be a disgruntled neighbor trying to scare away the developers. The neighbor wanted to protect the wetland from being disturbed during the subdivision process.]
Neighbor: “I would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”
[The gang laughs as the neighbor is escorted away by the authorities. Alfredo and Rachel thank Mystery Inc. for solving the mystery]
Alfredo: “Thank you all for uncovering the truth. Now we can continue with our project without any further disturbances.”
Rachel: “And we’ll make sure to protect the wetland and follow all the necessary guidelines for development.”
[The gang waves goodbye as they drive off in the Mystery Machine, satisfied with another mystery solved]

1. Ten Redwoods LLC Conditional Use Permit and Special Permit Assessor Parcel Numbers (APN) 208-241-017 Record No.
The Planning Commission in Humboldt County denied a Conditional Use Permit for a cannabis cultivation project due to lack of evidence and concerns about a fire incident and water theft. The project was found to be detrimental to public health, safety, and welfare. The applicant did not provide sufficient information to support the project. The Commission recommended denying the permit.

… or, as a right-wing radio talk show hosted by Merv "The Beast" Tarkington!
Merv “The Beast” Tarkington: Good evening, folks. This is Merv “The Beast” Tarkington coming to you live from the heart of Humboldt County, where we have some breaking news that will surely ruffle some feathers. The Planning Commission has made a decision that has left many residents scratching their heads and wondering what in the world is going on.
Now, picture this: a company called Ten Redwoods LLC, based out of Talent, Oregon, comes swooping into our beautiful county with plans for a massive outdoor cannabis cultivation operation. They think they can just waltz in here and start stealing water from neighboring parcels, causing fires, and then fleeing the scene when things go up in flames. Well, not on my watch.
The Planning Commission has thankfully denied their Conditional Use Permit and Special Permit for development and restoration in a streamside management area. Why? Because the evidence simply isn’t there to support their project. They can’t prove that their operation won’t be detrimental to the public health, safety, or welfare. And let’s not forget about that little detail of stealing water without permission. That’s just downright disrespectful.
It’s time we stand up to these out-of-town companies who think they can come in here and do whatever they please. We have rules and regulations for a reason, and it’s about time they start following them. So kudos to the Planning Commission for putting their foot down and sending these folks packing.
But the fight isn’t over, my friends. We must remain vigilant and continue to hold these companies accountable for their actions. Our county is not a playground for corporate greed and recklessness. We must protect our land, our water, and our community.
This is Merv “The Beast” Tarkington signing off for now, but rest assured, I’ll be keeping a close eye on any more shenanigans that try to sneak their way into our beloved Humboldt County. Stay strong, stay united, and stay informed. Thanks for tuning in.

The Planning Commission is reviewing a request from CannaDreams, LLC for special permits to continue operating a cannabis cultivation site in Humboldt County. The site includes outdoor cultivation in greenhouses, a nursery, and a hydroelectric facility. The project is located in the Ettersburg area and involves water usage, environmental considerations, security measures, and engagement with tribal communities.

… or, as an insane conspiracy theory!
Conspiracy theory: The Punta Canna, LLC, project in Humboldt County is actually a front for a secret government experiment to create mind-controlling drugs through the cultivation of cannabis. The proposed lot line adjustment and zone boundary adjustment are just distractions to cover up the true intentions of the project. The employees on site are not actually working on cultivation, but are being used as test subjects for the mind-altering substances being developed in the processing building. The solar array is not just for power, but also to fuel advanced technology being used in the experiments. The involvement of tribal consultation is a smokescreen to throw off suspicion, and the public trust resources mentioned are being exploited for the government’s nefarious purposes. Stay woke, people, and don’t trust the official narrative!
