Lowdown: Mama Doll Hit KHUM Today, Palm Lounge Tonight (VIDEO)

“I think I will go out on a Wednesday!” you say?

Fab! Humboldt offers you distractions aplenty this eve including a local bandsplosion at The Siren’s Song Tavern, mind-numbing sci-fi cinema at Arcata Theatre Lounge, good-cause brews at Mad River Brewery and the continuing Humboldt County Fair.

Also, Humboldt has multiple ways to experience the dark folk and haunting harmonies of Spokane’s Mama Doll:

  • The quartet will share the stage with local powerhouse vocalist Claire Bent at The Palm Lounge in an early show starting at 8 p.m. (They gotta make way for comedy open mic, of course.)
  • The ladies will fall in love on the air with KHUM’s Larry Trask at ‘round ‘bouts 4 p.m. in between playing a few tunes.
  • The Lowdown offers you a YouTube sample of what the group brings to the table. Check out “Crow Song” below.
