Friday Lowdown: A Harp-Playing Clown, Nazi Face-Melting and a Bern-Feelin’ Fiddle Player

Your Humboldt Friday is Arcata-dominated due in no small part to the fact that the calendar demands the first Arts!Arcata of 2016 be held tonight. Set in stone! In addition to your recurring wine-slurping and painting-gawking duties, note that black circles will spin at The Jam, there’s a harp-playing clown at the Arcata Playhouse and Nazi faces will melt off at the Arcata Theatre Lounge. Joy!

Should you buck tradition and shun A-Town, LoCO favorites Kingfoot will be sweating it out at ye olde Logger Bar in Blue Lake. And/or you might/could check out Rosalind Parducci — maybe you heard her on KHUM yesterday — as the vocalist/fiddler will be up at Six Rivers Brewery tonight and at The Siren’s Song Tavern tomorrow.

Because it is very important to know where all musicians stand politically, we will direct your eyes and ears to the YouTube clip below. It seems Rosalind and her Stringtown Ambassadors bandmate (and one-time Humboldt Live Sessions subject) Erin Inglish are feeling the Bern as they’ve written an unofficial campaign song for the Vermont Senator.

Sample their conviction below and/or gander at what else is happening in the county in your Lowdown listings farther down.

—Andrew Goff
